Hi all,
I am wondering what a standard day rate would be on a culsulting project lasting 8weeks in the retail / ecommerce industry. I have 10 years exp in field I am consulting in.
I was thinking around $2,500 but people have told me this may be high?
Depends on a few factors. What type of consulting project (technical or not), what the expected output is, the company you are consulting for (and how deep their pockets are / their rev model or current state).
For 10yrs 2-2.5 seems about right. You should also consider if gst is included or not..
I think most contractors I know in IT and programming are on 600-1200/day
Is this for a set contract or a consulting day rate though. I would expect a day rate to be much higher
As an ex consultant, I would suggest working out your total comp market value per day, and doubling it. Eg add your total comp, divide by working days in a year and you have your day rate
