High salaries and more opportunities in the US for an engineer. Bear in mind though work culture is very different. You will get paid more in the US but will be expected to work WAY harder.
I went to the US for 4 years when I was younger and made more money. I’ve now come back to AU to raise my kids and have a better lifestyle.
