Hi, it seems like everyone is being laid off at the moment. Are the redundancies over or still going on? Seems like mainly tech?

It’s over for me. 6.5 years at PwC come to an end over a 10 min call and an abrupt HR email. Feeling pretty low today but mainly the ego. Had been wanting to get out for a while but had hoped to get to next level which was promised imminently over last 6-12mnths.
Nice to leave with a check I suppose. Don’t trust big corporates!
is the check for 6.5 months of pay?
Wow – I think today was your answer! Huge layoffs across PwC and more coming at other firms in coming days / weeks.
Market is flooded with redundant workers at the moment. Thoughts are with with those doing battle with a tough market (including myself lol)
wow things at PWC must be bad if they are firing auditors. That’s crazy.. the backbone of the partners money making model!
they lost the westpac contract. so yeah.
PwC cuts at 329 staff and 2 C suites. 5% apparently!
At ANZ it’s left right and centre. A number of people have lost their roles in risk. The bank has set a target of holding cost increase to 2% when inflation is like 7%. The staff pay increases are at 4% below executive levels so something gotta give. A number of GMs, head of, and Senior managers have lost their roles. So basically the tip of the pyramids are the ones losing out. Above the GMs, the people are fine. So making it into executive ranks is important. Also GMs in key bread and butter roles like credit risk are staying put. Softer areas like Customer Voice etc are losing out.
